Having known Nathan and Digital Wonderlab for several years, we are comfortable with the ethics the business is based upon – technology with purpose! This was important to us as we operate within the IT sector and rely very much on sound knowledge and experience.

The challenge and approach
To offer a compelling user experience that puts people first
The founders of QD could see a gap in the market, and it was time to bring innovation to bear and become disruptive whilst using technology for good and do this well. A tech revolution in the recruitment sector! They wanted to stand for doing things differently; our digital enablement challenge was to mirror this ethos, by making sure that its website and digital channels offered a memorable user experience, supporting online journeys and reaching the right candidates and clients in the right way.
We needed to provide the means for job adverts to be seen, readily searchable and easily applied for via the website, as well as make sure that candidates could receive tailored notifications based on their individual preferences. At all times, the people behind the roles had to be at the heart of our digital transformation journey.
With technology playing such a fundamental role in Quinton Davies’ offering and market positioning, the website needed to be search engine optimised and provide a coherent and engaging experience for candidates and clients alike.
An essential recruitment resource suited to fast-moving industries
This project was about to bring into play the important worlds of Big Data, Analytics and AI (Artificial Intelligence) using UX at the core. We’re a very curious bunch - and we firmly believe that the best results are always achieved by truly getting to know a business from the inside out. That’s why we place so much importance on the discovery phase of our transformation projects. Including user sessions with the people who are ultimately going to make use of the digital service.
Working collaboratively, we explored the ‘must have’ key features and user stories that were essential to Quinton Davies’ Umbraco 7 website, as well as the best-suited integration options to meet short and long term strategic needs. Combined with the CRM solution and other app integration needs, which often perform the primary functionality of the industry and were included in the project, we were able to create the foundation of the ultimate dream of Alec and Pete through both the internal and external facing digital solutions. Including moving them into a Microsoft world.
We agreed that the website must allow clients and candidates to explore and learn who Quinton Davies are, what they stand for, and to receive essential recruitment updates in real-time - with ease of navigation a driving factor, recognising how important it is to engage time-poor users by hitting the mark quickly. This external facing technology was combined with the internal need for data safe storage and usage through MS Dynamics, plus API integration with recruitment power apps.
A compelling digital showcase for a truly innovative business
Quinton Davies’ wanted to do things better in their sector by offering a quicker service. Their website delivers on our promise of an engaging and distinctive user experience - and that’s because it’s grounded in our extensive digital enablement experience.
Our development of a digital road map ensured that the website effectively helps to recruit new staff in new and exciting ways. It is driving brand awareness and traffic to their recruitment services via the website – which in itself is the start of a journey which the team want to continue to develop.
The time that we spent profiling core users, delivering UX workshops on behalf of the business, and developing the brand and its content, all helps push QD forward digitally. The end result is a compelling online showcase for a digital-first recruitment company.
