We’ve got something big to celebrate — Digital Wonderlab has been named Mobile Tech of the Year at the UK Business Tech Awards!

This national award recognises the most innovative and impactful mobile technology projects across the UK, and we couldn’t be prouder that our work has been recognised on this stage.

Building something groundbreaking

The award celebrates our work developing a groundbreaking mobile application for a global industrial energy technology company — the capstone of their decade-long digital transformation.

Before this project, their engineers captured complex survey data by hand on paper, often in remote sites with no connectivity. Our challenge was to completely reimagine that process, creating something faster, smarter and more reliable — without adding risk or friction.

Working closely with our CRM partner Chorus, our in-house team of strategists, designers and developers built a tool capable of handling:

  • Hundreds of data points and images per survey

  • Full offline-first operation, even in harsh industrial environments

  • Seamless batch data uploads once back online

  • Intuitive, human-centred UX that guides engineers step by step through complex workflows

The result is an ultra-resilient app that works where others can’t — and it’s already transforming the way our client works.

Real impact, recognised

The app has cut survey turnaround from days to hours, giving sales teams instant access to accurate, high-value data to accelerate decision-making. It’s also helping speed up major energy-efficiency projects that reduce waste and support more sustainable industrial practices.

One engineer described it as “life changing” — and the judging panel stated:

“Digital Wonderlab demonstrates strong technical achievements. The ‘offline-first’ architecture is particularly impressive. These capabilities are essential for reliability and performance in environments where connectivity is inconsistent, making this a standout example of thoughtful, resilient engineering.”

Hearing this kind of feedback from the people using the technology — and from the UK Business Tech Awards judges — means the world to us.

Why this matters to us

As a purpose-driven B Corp, we believe technology should be a force for good — helping organisations work better, faster, and more sustainably.

This win is proof of what’s possible when human-centred design, robust engineering and real collaboration come together. It also shows the impact our Wiltshire-based team can have on a global stage, solving complex challenges in some of the toughest working environments.

Looking ahead

We’re incredibly proud of our team for making this happen and excited to build on this success as we continue expanding our work in energy, health, and environmental sectors, where technology has the power to deliver measurable environmental and operational benefits.

If your organisation is planning a complex digital transformation project and wants to explore what’s possible, we’d love to talk.
