We're evolving. Here's why - Meet the new Digital Wonderlab

Relentlessly curious. Impact-driven. Future-focused. That’s who we’ve always been. And our deep expertise across, strategy, design, technology and AI has always set us apart.

That won’t ever change. But what we make possible has.

It’s time for an evolution that shows what we can really do.

Digital transformation – the full journey through exploration and strategy, to platforms, integration, and automation – is still the core of what we do. What’s new is the tech available to us, and how we’re using it to enable our partners to reach further, move faster, and set their sights higher.

AI has accelerated everything, fundamentally transforming how we work and expanding our capability. We’re bringing our sister company, Level AI, under the Digital Wonderlab banner and welcoming Simon Allen as our Director of AI Solutions. Simon will lead the way in supporting our clients to embed AI purposefully, powerfully and responsibly.

    Meet the new Digital Wonderlab

    Nathan Baranowski, Co-CEO

Digital has reached a tipping point. The pace of change – driven largely by AI – means organisations are no longer just digitising processes; they’re fundamentally rethinking how they operate, grow and serve their customers.

We’re expanding our capabilities across strategy, experience design, platform engineering and AI-driven systems. We’re no longer simply delivering digital products, we’re helping organisations reshape what’s possible through digital.

The rebrand reflects that evolution. It signals we’re not just a digital agency anymore. We’re a long-term digital partner helping organisations navigate transformation with confidence.

Many organisations struggle because digital work is fragmented. Strategy in one place. Design somewhere else. Technology delivered by another partner entirely. We bring those disciplines together as one integrated capability: strategy, design, development, and AI are part of the same thinking, same team and same outcome.

Digital Wonderlab has always been driven by people who want to explore what’s possible and push ideas further. Technology will evolve, tools will change, and new opportunities will emerge, but our relentless curiosity is how we keep finding better ways forward for our clients.

    Deborah Fortescue, Co-CEO

The organisations we work with are always navigating change; new technologies, shifting customer expectations and increasing pressure to adapt faster.

Digital transformation has never just been about technology. It’s about people, culture, and confidence – having confidence in your people and your tech to do what you need to excel. Your digital partner should enable that confidence, at every stage, not just build great tech. Our rebrand reflects this shifting role and represents who we actually are, and everything we offer.

We put our energy into really understanding the organisations we work with – their ambitions, challenges and those they serve. No project sits in isolation from what our clients are ultimately aiming to achieve. From designing new solutions and improving services, to unlocking new revenue and enabling teams, the question is simple: will it get them where they ultimately want to be?

We are relentless in challenging the way things have always been done, and we want to make a genuine impact on this world. We care deeply about everyone we work with and every project we work on, because we partner with the most ambitious, purpose-driven organisations making huge positive change.

Kevin Triggle, Director of Web Solutions

User expectations have changed dramatically. People expect digital experiences to be seamless, relevant, and personalised, whether they’re engaging with a global brand or a local organisation. That means websites and digital platforms can no longer be static information hubs, they need to be dynamic experiences that adapt to their users.

Our rebrand reflects how our work has evolved to meet those expectations, and how we design digital experiences around real user needs.

By combining insight, data, and modern platforms, we create experiences that feel intuitive, personal, and meaningful. Whether it’s a website, portal, or digital service, the goal is always the same: make it easier for people to find what they need and take action.

Great digital experiences start with people. Technology will keep evolving, but understanding users – their needs, behaviours and motivations – will always be the foundation of brilliant digital design.

Tom Passmore, Director of App Solutions

Digital platforms have become the backbone of modern organisations. Websites, applications, internal systems and data platforms are no longer separate tool, they're part of an interconnected digital ecosystem – increasingly, AI is part of that too.

As the technology landscape has evolved, so has the way we build. Our focus now is on integrated, scalable systems that support long-term growth and adaptability.

We think in platforms, not just products. Instead of building isolated digital tools, we design and develop ecosystems where platforms, services and data all work together – built on composable, API-first architecture that's ready to adapt as needs change.

We build the foundations for long-term digital capability, enabling organisations to evolve continuously, rather than rebuilding every few years.

Exceptional digital products come from teams who care deeply about quality – in architecture, code, performance and usability. Our commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail is embedded in our culture. Every member of our team takes pride in building things properly, not just shipping quickly. That remains central to everything we build.

Simon Allen, Director of AI Solutions

AI has fundamentally changed the digital landscape. What once felt experimental is now becoming embedded in everyday operations, from intelligent automation to AI-driven insights to personalised services. Organisations are realising AI isn’t just another technology layer; it’s a catalyst for entirely new ways of working.

We’ve been investing heavily in this space, building expertise in AI integration, intelligent platforms, and automation. Our rebrand reflects that shift, and our ambition to help organisations harness AI responsibly and effectively.

What sets us apart is that we’ve lived the problems we solve. I've been a charity CEO, a councillor, and a frontline social worker. I've sat in board meetings where the tech budget is a rounding error, and the team is running on determination and too little sleep. I've also worked with growing businesses where the bottleneck isn't money; it's attention. Too many manual processes. Too much time lost to things a well-built system could handle in seconds.

That background changes how you build things. You don't start with the technology, you start with the problem. What's eating someone's time? What process makes good people want to scream? Then you build something that fixes it. Quietly. Without requiring a six-month transformation programme or a team of consultants who've never sat where you're sitting.

Our sweet spot is Microsoft, but we're not wedded to it. If an organisation is running on Google Workspace, or has workflows with built-in tools we didn't choose, we start there. We work with what people have before suggesting something new. The worst thing in tech is arriving with a solution before you've understood the room.

Ultimately, we believe technology should buy back human attention. That’s it. That's the thread through everything, whether we're working with a national charity or a fast-moving commercial team. AI doesn't change values; it exposes them. If you use it to squeeze more out of fewer people, that says something. If you use it to give a burnt-out manager their Thursday afternoons back, that says something different.

We always build for the second version. Tech that works, respects data, saves time so people can focus on the thing they actually came here to do.

We're the same exceptional team – with a new look, new direction, and bigger ambitions.

Digital is only becoming more business-critical. The gap between organisations that embed intelligent systems and those that don’t will continue to widen.

At Digital Wonderlab, we’re here to help organisations stay ahead of that curve – not catch up to it.

Whether you're at the start of your digital evolution or exploring what comes next, we’d love to help you shape the journey.

    Let’s explore what’s possible.
